New Year's Eve Morocco desert INFO:
Day 1 (December 30): Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Valley of the Roses – Gorges and Dades Valley
Pick up at Jamaa Lfna Square (in front of Cafe France) at 8:am, One of our staff will take our slogan and start of the route. Departure from Marrakech via the Col Tichka mountain pass, where we will cross the Atlas Mountains making stops to enjoy the magnificent views that the route offers us and to rest or take photos whenever you feel like it. We will arrive at Ouarzazate, where we will see the Kasbah of Taourirt. We continue the route finding the town of Skoura, located in the heart of the valley of palm trees, an extensive and labyrinthine oasis, whose lush vegetation covers beautiful secret kasbahs and you can also visit its kasbah of Amerdil. From here we will continue through the Valley of Roses (famous for its cultivation) until we reach the impressive Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight in Dades.
Day 2 (December 31): Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Erg Chebbi desert
After breakfast, we will continue along the banks of Boulmane, where a road opens up dotted with kasbahs (fortresses or castles) and ksour (fortified citadel ), whose landscape is ocher, red and mauve. Around us we will find rocky plateaus where dromedaries graze. After a journey full of ksour, oases and palm trees we will reach Tineghir (where the spectacular Todra Gorges are located) perched at 1,350 m above sea level and surrounded by a palm grove. We continue towards Erfoud (city of fossils). In the afternoon we will arrive at the hotel where we will leave what we do not need and the dromedaries will be waiting for us to enter the desert, while the sun sets, until we reach the tent camp in the middle of the desert of high dunes, where we will spend the night in a tent. Dinner and New Year’s Eve party in a tent under the stars of the desert.
Day 3 (January 1): Merzouga – Khamlia – Alnif – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate
In the morning we will have breakfast in the camp then return by dromedary to the hotel. visit to Khamlia, a native village of Mali, where we will relax with a tea while enjoying a small concert of Gnawa music. We will then arrive at Rissani, with its interesting market, where the nomads from the surrounding area come to sell their livestock and buy the goods they need. We will visit the market in the city of Rissani where we can also order Berber pizza (stuffed pie) to eat on the way in a tree in the Nergo Hamada desert. We will use the rest of the day to return to Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley, one of the longest rivers in Morocco. We will stop to contemplate the charming adobe kasbahs and Berber villages that dot the route and the interesting geological formations of the Draa Valley. Dinner and night in Ouarzazate.
Day 4 (02 January): Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Ouarzazate is also known as the Hollywood of Morocco, as many famous films have been shot there (The Jewel of the Nile, The Scorpion King, Kingdom of Heaven, Mission Cleopatra. ..) and are still being shot. If you like cinema, you can visit the film studios where the sets of some of these films are located. We will continue our route to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (World Heritage Site). Free time to walk around the kasbah and climb to its summit to admire the views. We will cross the High Atlas Mountains again with its beautiful landscapes. Arrival in Marrakech at around 2:00 pm, transfer to your hotel and end of our services.

Is the flight included in the price?
International round-trip flights to the destination are not included in the price of the trip. Therefore, you can choose the company, the departure airport and the time you prefer.

How many people share the excursion to the desert?
The Merzouga desert tour is done in a 4×4 or minibus shared with other travelers as well as a local guide/driver (with a maximum of 20 people).
There is the option with an additional fee to take the excursion privately.
Where are we going to sleep?
We give importance to rest, so during the trip you will stay in a private room in comfortable, clean hotels, with a local atmosphere and excellent location.
The accommodation in the desert is located in the middle of nature, they are Berber tent camps.
How are meals and dinners organized?
During the 4-day desert tour, breakfast and 3 dinners are included (one of them will be traditional and under the stars).
The tour driver will make stops in restaurant areas to order what you fancy the most.
What should I know before going to the desert?
Each day of the desert tour is a unique experience, witnessing incredible landscapes and being immersed in another culture.
In general, the desert tour is a comfortable experience, but the roads are usually not in good condition and there are many hours in the vehicle (so it is good to bring your own bottle of water, some nuts or a piece of fruit). The recommended clothing is cool pants, comfortable shoes, a cap, sunglasses, long-sleeved shirts and something warm for the evenings.
What time and where will I be picked up to go to the desert?
The 4×4 or minibus driver will arrive in the morning at the Jamaa Lfna Square in front of Cafe France in Marrakech at the indicated time (usually around 08:00).
After the excursion, on our return to Marrakech, we will drop you off again at the same point where you were picked up.
How do I book our trip? Are there any cancellation fees?
To confirm your trip, we will ask you to pay 30% of the amount after confirming the trip budget, and the rest upon arrival in euros.
You can cancel your trip with great flexibility:
Free cancellation 2 days before the start of the trip. Afterwards, non-refundable.
