Challenge yourself with an 8 Day Toubkal Trek to Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Explore the stunning Atlas Mountains, pass through traditional Berber villages, and enjoy breathtaking landscapes on this unforgettable trekking adventure.
A region of spectacular beauty where we can have close contact with the Berber people, a people of great cultural wealth. Its landscapes with enormous rock walls, inaccessible peaks and the sound of water that will appear during the ascent will encourage us to achieve our desire to contemplate the magnificent panoramic view from the top of Djebel Toubkal. This is a one-week trip with 6 days of trekking around the roof of the Atlas, ascending on the last day to the summit of Toubkal (4,167 m). It is suitable for people who are used to walking.
8 Day Toubkal Trek INFO:
DAY 1: MARRAKECH
Arrival at Marrakech airport, picked up by our correspondent with a sign with the name of our Brother’s ideal tours Agency and transfer to the city centre. Accommodation.
DAY 2: OUKAIMEDEN – OUANESKRA
Early departure by minibus to the heart of the Atlas, 78 km away. Trip to Oukaimeden (ski resort), at an altitude of 2,600 m. We will meet our team of mule drivers and cooks. Visit of 2,000-year-old rock carvings. After lunch we begin the ascent to the Eddi pass (2,900 m), which will last 1 hour and a half. Beautiful view of the summit of Angour (3,600 m) and Akswal (2,912 m). Long descent towards the pretty village of Ouaneskra (2,200 m). Night in tents.
Duration of the walk: 4 and a half hours.
DAY 3: IMIOURGHLAD
We will walk through the Imenane valley through the villages of Tamguist and Ikkis. We will continue towards the village of Amsakrou. We will have lunch in Arg. After lunch we will head towards the Arg pass (1,780 m). We will descend towards the Aït Misane valley to Imi Ourghlad (1,400 m), where we will sleep in a tent.
Duration of the walk: 6 hours.
DAY 4: TIZI OUSSEM
Departure at 07.30. We will walk through the village, fill our canteens and begin to climb gradually through a forest of red gin, thurifera and fir trees. We will finally reach the Tacht pass (2,100 m). 30 minutes from the pass, a fountain and a rest in the shelter of the rocks. After lunch, we will descend for an hour and a half to the village of Tiziane (1,800 m). We will camp at Tizi Oussem.
Duration of the walk: 5 hours and a half.
DAY 5: M’ZIK
We will climb the path through the hamlets. Beautiful view of the Tazarart plateau (3,800 m). We will deviate from the route to visit the Irhoulidene waterfall. We will cross the forest and it will take us 3 hours to climb the M’zik pass (2,500 m). We will descend to Aberdoun (2,200 m), where we will have lunch. We will continue to Mzik, where we will stay in a hostel.
Duration of the walk: 5 hours.
DAY 6: NELTNER REFUGE
Climb to the Neltner refuge (3,207 m) passing by the “marabout of Sidi Chamarouch”, a venerated saint frequented by pilgrims with spiritual illnesses, also known as the devil’s sultan. Continue towards the refuge along a path that climbs regularly. Night in a tent or in a refuge depending on availability of places.
DAY 7: ASCENT OF TOUBKAL – M’ZIK
Ascent to the summit of Toubkal (4,167 m). The path runs along the ascent slope. The first 200 m are on a slope; then it becomes gentler; from 3,700 to 3,850 m it becomes steeper; and finally, the crest is reached, followed by a ridge. All this involves a climb of 3 and a half hours and a descent of approximately 2 and a half hours. At midday, lunch and descent to M’zik. Accommodation and dinner at a hostel.
DAY 8: MARRAKECH – AIRPORT
Transfer to Marrakech. Free time and transfer to the airport to catch the return flight.

Transfers, mules, mule driver - cook, mountain guide, accommodation in family homes, shelters and full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during all days of the route except the last day when dinner will not be included.
