7 Day Easter Trip to Morocco

DAY 1 (APRIL 9): MARRAKECH AIRPORT – MARRAKECH

Pick up at Marrakech Airport according to arrival time and start of the guided tour to see the most important places in the city (local guide optional), famous for its Jemaa el Fna square, which will take up much of your time: an amalgam of aromas, sounds and unique sensations. The city also has other places to wander around and enjoy: the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the souks… Night in a Riad in the medina.

DAY 2 (APRIL 10): MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE

Departure at 8:30 am from the hotel in Marrakech. The route towards the High Atlas begins through the Tizi N’Tichka pass, making stops to contemplate the fabulous panoramic views and rest whenever you feel like it. Optional visit to the argan oil cooperative where you can learn about this product made exclusively in Morocco, where they will explain the stages of production and the countless benefits it has for the human body. Later we will detour along a 6 km track that will take us to the village of Ait Ben Haddou where we will visit its famous Kasbah (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Famous films such as Gladiator and The Jewel of the Nile were filmed in this spectacular setting. Lunch in the village and continue towards Ouarzazate, a city known as the gateway to the desert and the Hollywood of Morocco, where you can visit, if you are interested, the film studios. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

DAY 3 (11 APRIL): OUARZAZATE – DRAA VALLEY – ALNIF – THE DUNES OF MERZOUGA

After breakfast we head towards the Draa Valley, one of the longest rivers in Morocco. We will make several stops to admire the beautiful adobe kasbahs and Berber villages that emerge along the way and the wonders of the Draa. After lunch in Alnif within 2 hours we will reach the impressive dunes of Merzouga, where we will have a hospitality tea while we rest a little from the trip.

We leave our bags at the hotel and everything we will not need in the desert and we will set off on an excursion with the dromedaries for about an hour and a half taking us to the foot of the Great Dune, while we are illuminated by a beautiful sunset in the desert. Dinner and accommodation in the desert camp in a tent under its spectacular blanket of stars.

DAY 4 (12 APRIL): MERZOUGA – KHAMLIA – VISIT TO THE NOMADS – MERZOUGA

We get up before dawn to watch the majestic sunrise over the dunes. We return by camel to the hotel for a refreshing shower and breakfast. Then we will go for a 4×4 ride through the Erg Chebbi, the stretch of sand desert where the highest dune in Morocco is located, following a track from the old Paris-Dakar, with the mountains that mark the border with Algeria at the bottom.

We will stop at the oasis of Tissardmin in the nomad camps where we will have the opportunity to learn about their customs and discover the secrets of their lives in the desert. We will make a stop to observe a panoramic view from a viewing point where you can see the entire Erg Chebbi.

Visit to Khamlia, a village whose inhabitants are originally from Mali, where we can relax with a cup of tea while listening to a Gnawa music concert. Return to the hotel and free afternoon to climb the dunes and enjoy a romantic sunset. After dinner, a show with Berber drums awaits us. Dinner and accommodation in a cozy hotel facing the desert dunes.

DAY 5 (13 APRIL): MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGE – DADES VALLEY

We will head towards Rissani, passing first through Erfoud where you can visit the fossilized marble factory, where fossils extracted from the desert quarries are worked, before continuing towards the palm groves of Touroug and Tinejdad.

We will arrive at one of the most outstanding places in the South: the Todra Gorge. The river bed has formed a gorge with vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty, it is a unique place and a paradise for climbers. Lunch at the place and free time to walk and calmly contemplate the Gorges. In the afternoon, we will continue towards the Dades Valley through Boumalne. Visit to the Dades Gorges. Dinner and accommodation in a nice hotel next to the Dades River.

DAY 6 (14 APRIL): DADES VALLEY – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE – MARRAKECH

After breakfast we will start the route along a road dotted with Kasbahs, all different from each other. After several stops we will head to the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs, the Valley of the Roses and the great palm grove of Skoura.

Arrival in Ouarzazate, panoramic view of the Kasbah of Taourirt (former residence of the Glaoui or Pacha of Marrakech). We leave again towards the Tizi Ntichka mountain pass with stops to enjoy the spectacular views it offers. Arrival in Marrakech around 5 pm. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

DAY 7 (APRIL 15): MARRAKECH – MARRAKECH AIRPORT

Free time to continue visiting the city of Marrakech and do some last minute shopping, transfer to Marrakech Airport according to the flight time. End of our services.
