5 Day Marrakech to Desert INFO:

Day 1: Marrakech Airport – Marrakech:

Pick up at the airport or any point in Marrakech at the time that best suits you with a sign with the name of our agency brotherssideatours and transfer to the riad.

Possibility of having a first contact with the famous Jamaa La Fna square where we can enjoy the delicious food stalls, storytelling, music, dancing and games… night in a charming riad in the medina.

Day 2: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Gorges:

Breakfast and start of the route to the desert. Departure from Marrakech via the Col Tichka pass, where we will cross the Atlas Mountains making stops to enjoy the magnificent views that the route offers us.

Optional visit to a small women’s cooperative that processes argan oil, where you can learn how this precious product is obtained, as well as all the variety of culinary and beauty products that the argan fruit provides us.

We will continue on to Ouarzazate to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site, and have lunch. In Ouarzazate you can visit, if you are interested, the film studios where many famous Hollywood films have been shot.

Next we will find the village of Skoura, located in the heart of the valley of palm trees.

You can take a walk through the extensive and labyrinthine oasis, whose lush vegetation covers beautiful secret kasbahs and you can also visit its kasbah. From here we will continue through the Valley of Roses (famous for the cultivation of roses) towards the Dades gorges where we will spend the night. Dinner and night in a hotel next to the Dades River.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Desert:

After breakfast we will continue along the banks of Boulmane, where a road opens up lined with kasbahs (fortresses or castles) and ksour (citadel), whose landscape is ochre, red and mauve. All around us we will find rocky plateaus where dromedaries graze.

After a journey full of ksour, oases and palm trees we will arrive at Tineghir (where the spectacular Todra Gorges are located) perched at 1,350 m above sea level and surrounded by a palm grove. Free time to walk through the gorges. We continue towards Erfoud (city of fossils) and we will pass through Rissani (first imperial city), with its interesting market, where the nomads of the region come to sell their cattle and buy the belongings they need. Finally we will arrive at Merzouga, in front of the high dunes of Erg Chebbi, then we will have a welcome tea at the hotel.

Possibility of going on an excursion in Quads or Buggies or resting a little before the start of the excursion on dromedaries where we will enter the desert until we reach the tent camp in the middle of the desert of high dunes, where we will spend the night. Dinner and party with drums surrounded by a bonfire.

Day 4: Merzouga – Alnif – Draa Valley – Marrakech:

We highly recommend that you get up early today so that you do not miss one of the best sunrises that exist from the great dunes of Erg Chebbi. After breakfast we will return by dromedary to the hotel. The rest of the day will be used to return to Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley, one of the longest rivers in Morocco.

Stops to admire the adobe kasbahs and Berber villages that dot the route and the interesting geological formations of the Draa Valley. We will cross the High Atlas Mountains again with its beautiful landscapes. We will arrive in Marrakech at approximately 8pm. Transfer to your hotel in Marrakech.

Day 5: Marrakech – Marrakech Airport:

Breakfast and start of the guided tour to discover Marrakech, starting with the Koutobia minaret, (13th century) sister of the Giralda in Seville, of splendid harmony is currently the lighthouse and spiritual centre of Marrakech. We will then go to the Saadian Tombs (16th century) where its central vault of Carrara marble stands out. Afterwards we will visit the Bahia Palace (16th century), an example of aristocratic life in the Muslim Middle Ages, where the ambassadors’ hall stands out, with its cedar wood ceiling. We will then walk to the “Jemáa el F’naa Square”, declared a World Heritage Site (the visit starts at approximately 09:00 and ends at 13:00).

Depending on your flight departure time, we will transfer you to the airport and end of our services.

On the first day we have no activities, we will take you from the airport and check in at the hotel.
The departure with the rest of the group to start the tour on our bus is on day N.2 at 8:00am.
So there is no problem about any time of arrival!

On day N.5 we have a tour in the center of Marrakech from 9:00am to 11:00am. So we recommend leaving in the afternoon from 2:00pm.
But in case there are no flights, or there is a cheaper flight in the morning, no problem at all! We will transport you to the airport at the time of your flight.

We have the option of extra nights in Marrakech, with a price of €40 per person in a double room and €60 per night for a single room, including:
hotel with breakfast and airport transfer.

Transport in the Mini-bus for the whole group with air conditioning.
Fuel, tolls and all associated expenses.
Guide accompanying you throughout the route who speaks Spanish.

International round-trip flights to the destination are not included in the price of the trip. Therefore, you can choose the company, the departure airport and the time you prefer.

The Merzouga desert tour is done in a 4×4 or minibus shared with other travelers as well as a local guide/driver (with a maximum of 20 people). There is the option with an additional fee to do the excursion privately.

We give importance to rest, so during the trip you will stay in a private room in comfortable, clean hotels, with a local atmosphere and excellent location.

The accommodation in the desert is located in the middle of nature, they are Berber tent camps with beds (superior category with shower and bathroom, private for you).

During the 3-day desert tour, breakfast and two dinners are included (one of them will be traditional and under the stars).

The tour driver will make stops in restaurant areas to order what you fancy the most. In Marrakech there are numerous options for any budget for the rest of the meals and dinners

Each day of the desert tour is a unique experience, witnessing incredible landscapes and being immersed in another culture.
In general, the desert tour is a comfortable experience, but the roads are usually not in good condition and there are many hours in the vehicle (so it is good to bring your own bottle of water, some nuts or a piece of fruit). The recommended clothing is cool pants, comfortable shoes, a cap, sunglasses, long-sleeved shirts and something warm for the evenings.

The 4×4 or minibus driver will arrive at your hotel reception in Marrakech in the morning at the indicated time (usually around 08:00).
Sometimes the hotel is located on pedestrian streets, where it is not possible to go with the vehicle and a specific meeting point is arranged next to the hotel.
After the excursion, upon returning to Marrakech, we will drop you off again at the same point where you were picked up.

To confirm your trip, we will ask you to pay 30% of the amount after confirming the trip budget, and the rest upon arrival in euros.
