3 day camel trek across Erg Chebb ITinerary:
DAY 1: MERZOUGA – ERG CHEBBI – OUBIRA OASIS
Start of the route in Merzouga according to arrival time. After a warm welcome, we will set off with the camels waiting for us prepared with food, blankets and everything necessary for the route.
The route begins in the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, a spectacular starting point that introduces us fully to the adventure that awaits us. We will head to a small oasis in the middle of the dunes where after enjoying the magnificent sunset, we will spend the night.
We will enjoy the spectacular starry sky of the desert, an unforgettable experience for those who have lived a night of clear skies in the Sahara. During our first night we will have a tasty dinner around the fire with a party to the rhythm of drums.
DAY 2: OUBIRA OUASIS – MERDANI – NOMAD FAMILY
In the morning, after breakfast, we will take a 2-hour drive to our next destination, where we will stop for lunch in the shade of a tree in the desert called “Tamarist”.
After lunch we will go to the house of a Touareg family with whom we will share dinner and spend our second night getting to know their way of life and customs first-hand.
DAY 3: NOMAD FAMILY – ERG CHEBBI – TUAREG FAMILY
After breakfast with the Tuareg family, we will head to another small oasis in the desert as well, but before reaching this area we will stop for lunch along the route. This third night we will spend with a Berber nomad family who live in this oasis. During this night we will also have a wonderful dinner and a last evening by the fire where we will have the opportunity to learn more about their traditions and customs.
The next morning after breakfast we will ride back to the hotel in Merzouga where we begin the journey. Every day there is a 90 minute to 2 hour camel or walking trail.
